Bourton Mile Road Race

Friday 10th May 2024 - 7:30pm, Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire

Congratulations to Ben Robinson of Bristol & West AC, the winner of the 2024 Bourton Mile in a time of 4:20.8, and to Emily Field of Stratford Upon Avon AC, the winning lady in a time of 4:51.5. Bourton Roadrunners’ first finisher was Danny Hannig in a time of 4:55.6.

We have a selection of photos available from this year’s race for you to download.

There are very few road miles run anywhere in this country so this is a rare chance to take on a special challenge and make your mark over the classic distance. But this is an event for everyone because it’s a distance that anyone can take on – whether you’re running for fun or seeing just how fast you can cover 1,760 yards or 1,609 metres. The mile will always prove exhilarating, however quickly you run.

With extensive cash prizes, it’s part of the 2024 Gloucestershire AAA road race series and will incorporated the Gloucestershire Mile Championships.

This is a course that has produced some fast times since the first race in 2002. Belgrave Harriers’s William Stockley clocked 4:14 in 2022 while Rose-Ann Galligan of Gloucester AC crossed the line in 4:37 to win the women’s title in 2010. Examine a list of the winning times that we have been able to reproduce for the races from 2008 onwards, including age-category times. Additionally, we are also offering a prize of £100 should the first man or the first women break the existing course records.

Our race permit is 2024-27234 and will be available for inspection on race day, but may be down-loaded, along with a copy of the course measurement certificate.
