Boddington 10 - Sunday 25th January 2026
This weekend saw the first race of this year’s Gloucestershire AAA Road Race series taking place at the Boddington 10, hosted by CLC Striders. Second-claim members Kevin Goodwill and Rebecca Townsend, who were representing Cheltenham & Harriers, both had a strong race, with Kevin completing the four-lap ten-mile course in one hour, seven minutes and 52 seconds, while Rebecca looked comfortable in 1:10:13.
Claire Cox certainly looked strong, knocking more than 90 seconds from her 2025 time, and enjoyed getting her season off to a good start achieving 1:15:40. Pippa Marsden also looked in control throughout, delivering a sound 1:20:17.
Veterans Graham Lane and Liz Hulcup got their season off to a good start, with Graham delivering a fine 1:30:53 (MV70/2), while Liz's strength delivered a determined 1:42:10 (LV70/2).
Chepstow Half Marathon - Sunday 25th January 2026
Meanwhile, Claire Carroll travelled to Monmouthshire, for the Chepstow Half Marathon, centred around the grounds of the impressive and iconic Chepstow Racecourse.
Claire is no stranger to the distance and could been seen smiling with her finisher's medal after completing the 13.1 mile course in two hours, ten minutes and 30 seconds, with the added bonus of being 2nd in the LV60 category.
Shipston IX - Sunday 25th January 2026
Bourton Roadrunners also ventured to Warwickshire for the Shipston IX, held over quiet rural roads. Darren Long led the team home, completing the nine miles in an impressive one hour and 49 seconds. His partner, Maxine Emes, also delivered a strong performance in 1:07:09 and finished 3rd woman overall in a competitive field.
Continually improving Kieran Vallance achieved a sound 1:24:32. Bringing home the quartet was Linda Edwards in 1:28:58.
Parkrun - Saturday 24th January 2026
No weekend would be complete without a Parkrun, and this weekend Bourton Roadrunners could be found at the following venues:

Chipping Norton School: Louise Townsend - 32:34.
Gunnersbury, London: Megan Ratcliffe - 29:27.
