Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire -

Ilmington 10k - Sunday 15th February 2026

On Sunday morning two Bourton Roadrunners braved the inclement weather to face the challenge of the hills at Ilmington 10k, in the final event of this season’s Ilmington Winter Series. Along with 300 other participants was Bourton’s Dougal Hamilton-Smith, who ran strongly to finish fifth senior man, in a time of 43 minutes and 41 seconds.

Dougal was chased by Tim Hemming in 47:39, finishing second in the MV55 category for the series overall. Both certainly earned their finisher’s pack of sausages.

Stamford Striders’ 30k - Sunday 15th February

Kieran Vallance fancied something different and travelled to Lincolnshire for the 32nd Stamford Striders’ 30k, which is recognised nationally as a tough event and ideal training for a spring marathon.

Kievan battled through snow, sleet and 50-shades of rain to achieve a very respectable time of three hours and 17 minutes.

Caerphilly 10k Trail - Sunday 15th February

Meanwhile, Jaq Underwood made a return visit to the Caerphilly 10k Trail, which offered plenty of mud and slippery conditions across wet fields. Whilst a regular event in her racing calendar, and Jaq is certainly not one to shirk a decent challenge, she reported that this was the worst one she has done, taking one hour 23 minutes and 22 seconds.

London Winter 10k - Sunday 15th February

By contrast, Melissa Samual was absolutely thrilled to pick-up a new personal best time at the London Winter 10k in 78 minutes and 27 seconds, definitely earning the finisher’s medal for her efforts, and proudly supporting Cancer Research UK.

Gloucestershire AAA Cross County - Saturday 14th February

On Saturday Bourton Roadrunners’ Rebecca Townsend and Kevin Goodwill were representing Cheltenham and County Harriers in the Gloucestershire AAA cross county at Pittville Park, Cheltenham.

Rebecca ran well over the 6.5k course, finishing 10th Senior Woman in a time of 29 minutes and 49 seconds, knocking three minutes from her time last year. Meanwhile, Kevin found the going tough, equalling his time of 44:44 from last year, but disappointed to discover that the 9.8k course was 400m shorter than last time!

Parkrun - Saturday 14th February 2026
