Warwick Half Marathon - Sunday 1st February 2026
This weekend Bourton Roadrunners were out in force at Warwick Half Marathon, with some earning new personal best times (PBs), two amongst the prizes, but each of them giving their all over the 13.1 mile course.
Peter Carrick led the team home in one hour, 24 minutes and 8 seconds, cutting a whopping three minutes from his PB. Dougal Hamilton-Smith similarly reduced his PB by 2½ minutes, achieving 1:29:55 and finishing first man under 20 years-old. And Dillion Flynn reaped the benefits from his hard training gave an excellent performance in 1:34:13.

Mayhill Massacre - Saturday 31st January 2026
Meanwhile, on Saturday, three members ventured to Huntley, Gloucestershire, for the Mayhill Massacre. Comprising of an eight-nine mile tough cross country run, featuring demanding climbs and some very muddy trails. Kevin Goodwill opted for the Canicross race, where he and "Meg" gave a sterling performance, finishing in second place with a time of 1 hour, 7 minutes and 33 seconds. While Kevin was making his final attempt to catch the leader he became separated from one of his running shoes in the mud; all part of the fun!
Rebecca Townsend and her mother Louise took-on the main race over the same course, with Rebecca achieving second-place female in a time of 1:12:53, while Louise had a brilliant run finishing in 1:41:45.
Parkrun - Saturday 31st January 2026

Highlights
This week Bourton Roadrunners were in action at Warwick Half Marathon, Mayhill Massacre, and Parkrun.
Congratulations to Kevin Goodwill and Rebecca Townsend for finishing 2nd overall in their respective gender groups at the Mayhill Massacre. Also, there several fine performances at Warwick Half Marathon, with Peter Carrick and Dougal Hamilton-Smith both cutting their PBs by substantial sums, and Dougal finishing MU20/1.
