Shakespeare Raceways Half Marathon & 10k – 3rd March 2012

A few of the Bourton crew braved the tough windy conditions over the weekend with some great results.

At the for lap very windy Shakespeare half marathon course Shona Crombie-Hicks and Lucy Walmsley ran particularly well in the tough conditions. Both are hard at their marathon training and their results of Shona 1st lady in 1:24:16 and Lucy 2nd lady 1:28:37 was a well-earned result.

They were well supported by a fantastic result for Claire Harrison in 1:41:42 to claim the ladies team prize. Pete Scarrott was happy with his time of 1:37:13, considering all his injury problems of late.

In the 10 km event Susan Hunt continues from strength to strength with a superb effort to break 50 minutes, in 49:48.

Heart Breaker Marathon, New Forest - 26th February 2012

Steve Edwards continues towards his world record, but was made to work hard at the tough and challenging Heart Breaker Marathon, not made easier by the extra half mile added on for safety reasons. Only six runners managed to break 3 hours 30 minutes, with Steve being one of them in 3:26:00 as 3rd vet (4th overall – 91 finishers).
