Tenby Marathon – 10th June 2012

Lucy Walmsley is the Ladies British Masters Champion after a superb run over the weekend at the Tenby Marathon in Wales. After months of hard work , racing and many miles of training it all paid off for Lucy, winning gold in great style.

Leading from the start at one of the toughest Marathons in Wales, Lucy made her intentions clear as she powered around the daunting course in 3 hours 11 minutes, a massive 13 minutes ahead of her nearest rival. An elated Lucy was very excited winning her first national gold medal.


Cleeve Cloud Cuckoo 5 – 6th June 2012

A few days earlier, with a great club turnout, our braver members took on the 5 mile Cleeve Cuckoo, which is not for the faint-hearted, Dennis Walmsley led for Bourton with a great result in 4th place and 1st vet 40 in 38:03.

Tony Goodwill, running particularly strong at this stage of the season, was next in 42:02 and 3rd vet 50.

All our runners performed admirably in tough conditions with all the following completing: Darren Long 44:39; Andy McCoombes 47:28; Brian Hulcup 50:13, 3rd vet 60; Rob Humphris 50:45; Claire Harrison 50:48, 3rd lady vet 35; Jan Short 50:58; Gill Carrick 51:33; Steph Holton 52:04; Ali Lane 53:12; Liz Hulcup with yet another 1st vet 55 in 53:21; Norm Lane 53:51; Nigel Frith 54:16 , David Pyne54:59 and Chris Dry in 56:25.

Highlights
