Welcome to Bourton Roadrunners Website

Linda Franks 5 Miles - 23rd January 2011

At the Linda Franks 5 Mile race, the first of the County Road Race Series, our juniors produced outstanding results, well supported by the more seasoned athletes. Beth Wynn ran a brilliant race to finish as 1st junior and 4th lady at only 16 years of age in an impressive 33 minutes 57 seconds. First Bourton man was 17 year old Lewis Gray, flying home in an incredible 26:57 to claim 4th overall and 1st junior.

Ewen Smith was elated with 8th overall and 1st vet 40 in a pb of 28:44. Next in was John Raper in 34:26 for first vet 60. An ever fitter and stronger Ali Lane ran a brilliant 34:34 to claim first vet 50 lady. She was closely followed by on the come-back Norm Lane with a strong run in 34:40 and 2nd vet 60.

Liz Hulcup ran yet another impressive pb of 35:39 and was 1st vet 55. Jan Short had a descent run for 2nd vet 50 in 36:15. Shirley Creed was happy with her strong performance, clocking 37:47 and 3rd vet 45. Other finishers for Bourton were the ever-smooth running Steph Holton, Chris Bence, happy Gill Carrick and strong finishing Gary Holton.

Gloucester Marathon - 23rd January 2011

Steve Edwards, against his better judgement, after being out injured and not having raced for 7 months, decided to take on the Gloucester Marathon. Hoping to dip under 3 hours 30 minutes he surprised even himself to record an impressive 3:17:52.

Hard to believe, but that takes Steve to 300 sub 3:20 marathons, 445 sub 3:30 marathons and a massive TOTAL of 518 marathons.

Threshold 10 winter series - 23rd January 2011

Susan Hunt continued her fine form with first vet 45 in race 2 of the Threshold 10 winter series.

Four Villages Half Marathon - 23rd January 2011

Last but by no means least three of our athletes braved the cold but perfect conditions at the Four Villages Half Marathon, in Helsby Cheshire. A large field of 2000 took part and leading Bourton home was John Gibson in a fast 1:36:43, followed by good solid efforts from Ed Rozier in 1:51:27 and close behind was Rodger Woodley in 1:51:55.
