Moreton-in-Marsh 10k – 9th October 2011

At the annual mob match with old rivals Cirencester which took place at the Moreton 10km made for an exciting days racing. Cirencester drew first blood with their athletes taking the first two places on a very tough multi-terrain course.

Bourton soon hit back with Mike Smith 3rd and 1st vet in 36:50, with 4th and 5th also Bourton runners with Connor Shoemark and Dennis Walmsley finishing together in 38:47, with Connor claiming 1st junior too. Mike Hobbs was next in 42:36.

Niamh Shoemark had a particularly strong run as 2nd lady in 46:38.

With the mob match result hanging in the balance the rest of our runners to finish and securing a close victory were Rob Humphries 48:50; Liz Hulcup 51:04; Gill Carrick 52:42; Steph Holton 53:34; Lynn Hudson 59:16 and Gary Holton 65:43.


Abingdon Marathon – 16th October 2011

Steve Edwards was our only athlete at the Abingdon Marathon with another impressive result in 3 hours 6 minutes 32 seconds. Steve is not far away from the World Record of 500 marathons in under 3 hours 30 minutes. Watch this space to celebrate his achievement.
