Tewkesbury AC Guy Fawkes 5 Miles - 7th November 2010

With a lot at stake in the last race of the county series Bourton Roadrunners performed brilliantly, securing a number of P-Bs and county GOLD MEDALS at theTewekesbury 5 Mile.

Mike Smith led the way after a titanic battle with Lewis Grey to SECURE the mens county champion title and 2nd vet 40 on the day with a respectable 27 minutes 34 seconds. Lewis was 2nd junior with a PB of nearly a minute in 27 minutes 48 seconds. He also secured 3rd in the county series at only 17 years of age.

Connor Shoemark and Ewen Smith performed well with times of 29 minutes 27 seconds and 29 minutes 48 seconds; Smith with a P-B.

Sarah Harper was in fine form recording 31 minutes 53 seconds, her best in two years. Vastly improving Nigel Firth came in just ahead of Beth Pudifoot in 35 minutes 30 seconds, while Beth was first junior lady.

Jan Short secured county LV50 series gold, with a brilliant 4 minute P-B of 36 minutes 42 seconds. It was great to see Ali Lane back after a year out injured and was delighted with a fine 37 minutes 25 seconds.

Liz Hulcup finished a fine season to be crowned LV55 champion as did Susan Hunt to be LV40 series winner.

The men are County open series Champions and the Ladies Vets team claimed the county series title. A brilliant effort to ALL in the club.
