Club Participation in Races - Report of 28th September
CIRENCESTER 10K
Steph Lane added another win to her already very successful season, finishing first lady in the Cirencester 10K, 2 minutes ahead of Bath's Sarah Unwin-Mann. Her time of 37:02 knocked 22 seconds off her previous 10K best time.
Lucy Walmsley also had an excellent run, with the best time achieved since her long time out from injury of 40:35, placing her 3rd in the race. Ali Lane also had a season's best of 41:49, finishing 5th lady and 1st Lady Vet 45. These 3 made up the first Ladies Team and all collected gold age category medals for the County Championship.
Dennis Walmsley, Alistair Lockey and Mike Smith, finishing 7th, 9th and 14th in 34:24, 34:45 and 36:01 respectively received gold, silver and bronze Vet 40 County Championship medals.
Andy Chapple achieved a superb personal best of 36:57, as did Ewen Smith for 39:40. A good solid run from Tony Goodwill of 39:52 earned him silver Vet 50 CC medal.
Lewis Gray had a great run for his first ever 10K, achieving 39:57 and a gold Junior Man medal, with team mate, Tom Jess collecting silver for his time of 40:13.
Julia Rutherford and Pauline Teague achieved times of 47:15 and 48:34 to give them silver and bronze Lady Vet 45 medals, while Liz Hulcup picked up a LV55 silver for her time of 52:12.
Other Bourton results were Rob Edwards 40:11, Rob Humphris 43:35, Norm Lane 44:00, Nigel Frith 44:25, Brian Hulcup 45:16, Neil Teague 45:46, Brittany Teague 47:58, Lynn Hudson 48:41, Shirley Creed 49:56, Bert Jess 50:49, Chris Bence 53:06 and Dennis Abbots 55:08.
