Welcome to Bourton Roadrunners Website

Saturday 19th June 2009 at 6pm

Once again the race followed a single loop, starting and finishing in Bourton-on-the-Water.  A notable picturesque route through the pretty villages of Clapton, Sherborne, Windrush, Great Barrington and Great Rissington. We have a selection of photos and maps showing the course.

Download the entry form for this year's race, which is again sponsored by Hacklings Stotage & Distribution.

Congratulations to Gary Payne (1:16:03) and Steph Lane (1:29:13) - the 2009 winners - for achieving great times over a challenging course.  Read the full race report.   The race results and prize list are available to down-load.  Click-on picture below for a larger version.

2009 Hilly Half Race Start

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that supported the race, including all of the runners who suffered in the sticky-heat, but also to our many supporters that made the race possible.

Results are still available for the 2008200720062005 and  2004 races.

Despite our continued emphasis that for your safety the wearing of personal listening devices such as i-Pods etc. is prohibited and against UK:Athletics rules, several runners persisted in wearing them.

Background

The Hilly Half was introduced in 2003 to replace the Bourton Classic 15 mile race, which had been running for over 20 years.  So far it has proved to be a good move.

We would love to be able organise a marathon one day too.  Please let us know if it would be of interest.

This year's race director is Tony Goodwill, who is supported by Steve Hudson as race entries secretary. Tony may be contacted at and Steve be contacted at
