Welcome to Bourton Roadrunners Website

Humph's Hilly Half Marathon

Saturday 18th June 2011 at 6pm

Once again, the race followed a single loop, starting and finishing in Bourton-on-the-Water.  A notable picturesque route through the pretty villages of Clapton, Sherborne, Windrush, Great Barrington and Great Rissington. We have a selection of photos and maps showing the course.

The race HQ was at Bourton Rovers Football Club (GL54 2DT), a 10 minute walk to the race start. The new showers and changing rooms proved to be popular, and we thank them for laying on the BBQ for us.

Congratulations to Stuart Fox of Bournemouth AC(1:14:35) and Shona Crombie-Hicks of Bourton Roadrunners (1:20:00) - the 2011 winners - for achieving great times over a challenging course.  The full race report will follow shortly   The race results are available to down-load.  Click-on picture below to see our small picture gallery of the race - more to follow shortly.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that supported the race, including all of the runners and our many supporters, including Bourton Rovers FC, St John Ambulance, Gloucestershire Police and our sponsor Hackings Storage and Distribution, that made the race possible.

Results are still available for the 201020092008200720062005 and  2004 races.

Background

The Hilly Half was introduced in 2003 to replace the Bourton Classic 15 mile race, which had been running for over 20 years.  So far it has proved to be a good move.

Our race licence is 2011-0068, and the certificate of course measurement is available for inspection too.

The 2010 race report, 2009 race report and the 2008 race report are still available to read.

We would love to be able organise a marathon one day too.  Please let us know if it would be of interest.
